Burberry

Burberry is a luxurious British fashion house, founded by Thomas Burberry in 1856. It all started when a at that time young 21-year-old clothier opened his small store with men's apparel at Winchester Street, offering fine quality coats. The supreme quality of fabrics and the precision of the crafstmanship quickly provided him a large number of  regular customers. When in 1879 Thomas Burberry invents a waterproof, durable and breathable garbandine, his popularity dramatically increases, and his garbandine clothing become well recognized by airmen, Polar explorers, balloonists and mountaneers. During WW I, Thomas Burberry clothes the British army. After the war his coats also become very popular in a civil version. Lightweight, double-breasted, with a belt and the characteristic checked lining, they become the cult and worldwide recognizable trench coats (Eng. trench coat – coat worn in trenches). The Burberry brand is in the possession of the recommendation of the British Royal Family, and its official trademark, the checked pattern, since the 2022s has been the most often copied trademark in the world.
